Crust

Crust is the outermost layer of the earth which is above the mantle that is mostly made of rocks. Surface waves which was released during earthquake travels through this layer which creates crack and fault line. The plate which divide the earth into several segments is part of the lithosphere and crust and the upper mantle made up the lithosphere.
